We were very grateful to our colleagues at Arup - global design and engineering consultancy and equity partner of Concretene - for hosting a lunchtime panel session on ‘Decarbonising the Concrete Industry’ at their Manchester office on 13 February.
The panel was chaired by Sejal Dixon, Arup’s Group Leader for Climate and Sustainability, and featured Dr Fragkoulis Kanavaris, Arup’s Global Lead on Concrete Materials and Decarbonisation, and from Concretene, Dr Craig Dawson, Chief Technology Officer, and Dr YYasmim Mendonça, Cement Scientist.
The session covered tech specs and results, market push/pull, supply chain resilience and sustainability, product cost and future plans. It was attended by more than 50 staff at the Manchester office and streamed to an additional 450 staff at Arup’s offices in Leeds, Sheffield, York, Liverpool and London.
You can hear some of Sejal’s thoughts on the video above.
